Eleven years ago my wife Bee and I went temporarily mad and purchased an old harbour tug which we hoped to convert to a floating home. Somehow we managed to save what was left of our little ship from the breakers yard and our vessel finally went back in the water four years later after an almost total rebuild. We've taken the boat to a mooring in Littlehampton, and we're still working away at it. This blog is all about our experiences while we slowly turn her into the boat of our dreams.

I'm full of hope that, although it actually doesn't seem so, you're still working at your boat (sorry for my kindergarten-english, I'm german).
For a while I'm following some blogs about houseboats and yours is one of my favourites!

Since my youth I'm addicted to boats (my parents liked sailing, so we had different small sailing boats) and windsurfing and all the stuff connected to water etc.
One day not too long ago I found this blog:

After reading a good amount of text about converting a barge to a houseboat I was addicted.
As always the internet opened doors I didn't know they existed..
Curious as I am, I found many more fascinating blogs about this topic (and very addicted people), like Tim Zim (sad story), Hendrik (still alive), Waterlogged (epic) and boats are for losers (big fan, but whats going on???).
While following all your experiences I realized, that converting any kind of ship into a home might kill all of your private life, relationships, financial status, health, ...
The reason, why my first comment on one of the blogs i follow is on your blog is explained simply / simply explained:
First of all - the ship itself: I like barges, if I lived in England I might like narrow boats, but I _love_ tugs and trawlers.
Secondly (?) I really love your writing - although it's very hard for me to follow, it's such an imaginative way to write - simply beautiful.
To realize that after a few years of putting all your energy not only in rebuilding your ship and surviving all kinds of difficulties but also writing about it, I'm very afraid that you might go the same way as 'boats are for losers' - disappearing unheard!
So, please give me a 'ping', if you're still on your project. Please please!
I'd be very unhappy, if your ship would share the same fate as Tim Zim's.
